In the study, Berger suggests that feeling fearful, angry, or amused drives people to share news and information. These types of emotions are characterized by high arousal and action, as opposed to emotions like sadness or contentment, which are characterized by low arousal or inaction. “If something makes you angry as opposed to sad, for example, you’re more likely to share it with your family and friends because you’re fired up,” continues Berger.

This company has a lot of history and they made it to the Internets top 10 biggest hoaxes list, I’ve seen them at least 5 times on the news in September when they made their notorious Emma hoax, so I decided to try them out. The support wasn’t immediate (took 6 hours until they responded) but it was definitely useful. I have purchased 5000 views and received 7,000 instead, really grateful and will use them again for my campaigns.

Then, once you’ve written your script (even if it’s as something simple as a burger review) you need to read it aloud so you can rewrite and cut all all parts that do not move the story forward.
Below this, you’ll see the option to add up to 5 custom links. I’d add your main site to be listed first, then Facebook. Then, in the order they’re most important to your business, any of the following 5 options: Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and/or LinkedIn.

This whole idea behind “all you need is a webcam” is pretty much garbage. Don’t believe me, when was the last time you watched someone’s webcam video for extended periods of time? To be fair, it’s sometimes true that a webcam is all you need, but only if you have an engaging video personality. And let’s face it, being good on video is not a skill that most people are born with.

  1. He goes on to say that some of their videos might be seen as ‘edgy.’ However, HubSpot try not to be too conservative. Instead, they actively encourage video creators to be creative and take risks. Think your B2B audience can’t handle humour? Dharmesh makes an excellent point: the HubSpot audience is primarily B2B (but that won’t hold them back from being entertaining). Don’t feel constrained by what’s gone before you in your industry and don’t try to emulate your competitor’s stiff tone and yawnsome script. Stand out and take a chance on being funny.

On your external hard drive, you should create a separate top-level folder for each project. Within this folder, there should be a prescribed set of buckets to store your video footage, audio, design assets, and more. Create a template project folder that you can copy and paste for each project using the image below as a guide.
There’s no shortage of content out there in the digital world. People are overloaded with information that they cannot process. Videos are a breath of fresh air in a world dying with information overload. It is easier for the brain to process visual content amidst a sea of text. Creating an impact through videos is therefore that much easier.
The first is that viewer attention spans- and loyalty- are a bitch. I’m even lumping in my own impatience online here; as a user, if I click to watch a tutorial, an ad pops up, and I see a similar tutorial in the “You May Also Like This” feed, I’ll give that one a shot instead. I’m not kidding. I’ve done this twice today. You don’t want to do anything that will cause viewers to lose interest in your video, or worse, to click to a competitor’s video instead.

  2. We all know about Facebook contests, Instagram contests, and even Pinterest contestshttps://blog.hootsuite.com/secrets-youtube-contest/. But what about YouTube contests? They’re not as common, but they are a great strategy. Since they’re not as common, this gives you an edge if you decide to use them. Like all other social contests, a YouTube contest can do a lot to help increase subscribers, engagement, and social shares. And, when executed correctly, lead generation and/or user generated content.

Find a Location: First, find a spot to record. If you can’t go to a professional studio, try to pick a quiet room away from distracting external sounds like sirens, opening and closing doors, and people talking on the phone. Read your script aloud, and pay attention to the room’s acoustics. Does your voice echo or sound muffled? If so, consider recording in a different space or adding furniture to fill in the room.
Dharmesh Shah, Founder and CTO of HubSpotsays it best: “The worst thing to do is make a completely boring video. Videos that are pure marketing puff pieces don’t spread.” So what do your audience want instead? They want to laugh, they want to feel enlightened, they want to be pulled out of their boring 9 to 5s and forget about their realities. HubSpot don’t take themselves too seriously – Dharmesh insists that humour works well for their video marketing campaigns.
Your prospects want to know that your product will solve their specific problem, and one of the best ways to showcase this and build trust is by creating case study videos that feature your happy and loyal customers. It’s also important to enable embedding on your video as this will help you increase the likelihood of receiving inbound marketing links. Oh and don’t forget to avail of video sitemaps – in this nifty document Google explains how to create a video sitemap with ease.
One fifth of your viewers will click away from a video within 10 seconds or less. Short and to the point – that’s what the video experts are recommending. Our advice? Get right to the grit of the tale and manage expectations from the outset (within the first 5 to 10 seconds).

If you choose a DSLR, there are a few settings you need to understand before your first shoot: frame rate, shutter speed, ISO, aperture, and color balance. Definitely keep your camera nearby as you read — manual settings can seem quite abstract without testing them for yourself.

In the section on preparing the talent, we discussed how to record your script in short sections. If the editor were to place each of these sections side-by-side, the subject’s face and hands might abruptly switch between clips. This is called a jump cut, and for editors, it poses an interesting challenge. Thankfully, you should have b-roll not only to enhance the story, but to mask these jump cuts.
Before launching any marketing campaign, it’s important to determine your primary video goals. Your goal could be to increase brand awareness, engagement, or even conversions for a free trial! However, it’s crucial to pick out just one or two goals for each video. When you have more, your video will seem unfocused, which makes it difficult for viewers to determine what they should do next.
Even if you have have a perfectly organized external hard drive, you’re not out of the weeds yet. You need to back up your files, or even back up your backup files. It’s not uncommon to have an external hard drive you work off of, another external for backups, and a third set of backups in the cloud via a service like Dropbox or Google Drive.

  5. Alright, you’ve put a lot of time and effort into your YouTube channel. You’ve created interesting content, optimized it for SEO, and shared it across different platforms … now it’s time to measure your success.
Find out how people are using your product or service to better their lives, and share their inspiring stories with the world through video. They’ll do a much better job of advocating for your product or service’s value than a piece of purely fact-based marketing content ever could.
At the end of the day, good storytelling is the foundational element that separates the competent videos from everything else. It is also often the missing element in most online videos. Without a good story, there is nothing to build on, so the video is destined to fail.
I highly recommend adding both YouTube cards and captions to all of your videos. This will make the videos more accessible and actionable. Both only take a few extra minutes, and are well worth the investment.
Putting a sense of urgency (limited time) behind your message can be a powerful psychological motivator (take action now so you don’t miss out). This makes your message not only compelling, but also actionable.
Tubular’s recent ‘State of Online Video Report’ has revealed some important observations into the role sponsored content has played in today’s online video landscape. By inserting their product into a story of loss, love, and restoration, Google Earth was successful in positioning its capabilities as life-changing — but it doesn’t feel too showy. The video makes you feel that Google Earth isn’t out to make money, but rather, they’re out to build a service to improve the lives of their users.
The average human lives for 25,915 days — and Reebok wants us to use those days to continuously honor and push our bodies to their physical limits. Their video promoting the #HonorYourDays campaign doesn’t contain any spoken words, but the message is powerful: Make the most of the days you have by, as they put it, “honoring the body you’ve been given.”
Every video you have on your channel strengthens the website, because every video points back to your channel page. The more authoritative your channel/homepage becomes, the easier it becomes for your site to rank.
If your video isn’t funny, or shocking, or scary, or extremely informative and full of personality, the effort of marketing and promotion will be fruitless. Focus on marketing only after you’ve created something worth marketing, otherwise it’s just a ton of wasted effort.
Before you start implementing your YouTube marketing plan, you should decide who on your team will need access to the account. Granting access to team members will allow them to help manage the channel through their own Google accounts.
