If you have experienced, confident actors in your company, you’re lucky. Video talent is a rare resource. But with a little bit of coaching (and a fair share of nervous laughter), you can help your teammates thrive in front of the camera.
If you’re just starting with manual video settings, don’t get overwhelmed. Understanding the ins and outs of the Exposure Triangle takes time and a lot of practice. Here are two tips to beat the learning curve:
Video funnels: In the same way that email campaigns can nurture someone once they have opted in, you can use video funnels to drive audiences over time from awareness to consideration phases using several videos. Facebook and other platforms let you create custom audiences based on their behaviors, which allows you to retarget based on behaviors.

That’s why it’s so important to learn and test some strategies and to get help from Digital Organics right now. This year, embrace video in your marketing strategies, and don’t be left behind.

Consider sending a thank you video to welcome them into the community or an onboarding video to get them rolling with their new purchase. Then, build out a library of educational courses or product training videos to cater to consumers who prefer self-service or simply want to expand their expertise.
One fifth of your viewers will click away from a video within 10 seconds or less. Short and to the point – that’s what the video experts are recommending. Our advice? Get right to the grit of the tale and manage expectations from the outset (within the first 5 to 10 seconds).

If you choose a DSLR, there are a few settings you need to understand before your first shoot: frame rate, shutter speed, ISO, aperture, and color balance. Definitely keep your camera nearby as you read — manual settings can seem quite abstract without testing them for yourself.
there are many issues to consider when utilizing this medium. Having said this, the author of this fine book has an excellent understanding of the history of you tube marketing and he is up to date on the latest developments. I have spoken to Greg and he is bright, straightforward and realistic. I believe he knows all there is to know about this kind of advertising.
Most people are a bit camera-shy and don’t feel comfortable having their face plastered all over YouTube. Well, here’s the good news – you don’t have to become a YouTube celebrity. In fact, it might actually be better if you don’t appear in your YouTube videos.
When you’re going for that professional level and a video marketing strategy comes together, what does it look like? This case study with Plated gives you a great example of what you may be able to expect from a video marketing campaign:
YouTube Live allows users to broadcast live content to viewers. Live video allows you to easily share unfiltered moments, and lets your audience participate with real-time comments. Live videos on YouTube are recorded and appear like an other video upload. You can easily start a YouTube live stream from your phone or desktop by following these steps.
Users are more likely to share and re-share video than other forms of content. It is a great tool for businesses and professionals to showcase their vision, expertise, products, services, company news and announcements for maximum outreach.
Friends, coworkers, and even family can be great resources here for finding the locations you need. Keep in mind that for some locations, like businesses and other private property, you will need permission from the owner to film. To keep things simple, it’s best to find your locations through people you know — at least for your first few productions.
I had an Instagram account with only 50 followers. I already had five pictures uploaded with 0 interactions. I decided to buy 200 Instagram followers from Rantic and I finally have fans that like my stuff! I am happy; now I can grow my fan base on Instagram.
Explainer videos are in-depth videos explaining how to use a product or various parts of a product or service. Tutorials can be used to answer customer support questions or explain a new product feature.
There are many options for editing tools and software. Depending on your operating system, your computer may come with free editing software such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. These programs provide basic editing tools, like the ability to cut clips together, add titles, and add limited effects and color correction. There are also higher end, more expensive options such as Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premier CC, which offer an array of editing tools. YouTube even has its own online editing platform you can use to compile your clips and edit together your video.
For instance, as the person behind the camera, you may believe you collect ample footage and ask all the right interview questions. But to the editor, you may actually be shooting too much of one type of shot and missing out on some that would make their job a lot easier.
Intel’s five-part “Meet the Makers” series looks more like the inspirational, uplifting stories you see on the news rather than videos created by a brand. Each video profiles a person around the world who uses Intel products to create amazing experiences and new technology.
“In a prior paper, we found that emotion plays a big role in which New York Times articles make the most emailed list. But interestingly, we found that while articles evoking more positive emotions were generally more viral, some negative emotions like anxiety and anger actually increased transmission while others like sadness decreased it. In trying to understand why, it seemed like arousal might be a key factor,” says Berger,[3] the Joseph G. Campbell Jr. Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Pennsylvania.
Social video marketing (SVM) is a component of an integrated marketing communications plan designed to increase audience engagement through social activity around a given video. In a successful social video marketing campaign, the content, distribution strategy and consumer self-expression tools combine to allow an individual to “add their voice” or co-create value to a piece of content – then further propagating it out to their social circles. Social video typically benefits from a halo effect cast by the “influencers” of a given social grouping. SVM draws on consumer-culture theory, economic theory, and social theory around the psychology of sharing. Social video marketing differs from social marketing, which has the intent of influencing behavior for a social good.
(By the way, many marketing touch points you already love are more upper-funnel than they get credit for. For example, even PPC search qualifies as an upper-funnel touch point for all the folks who don’t convert to one of your preferred marketing behaviors or objectives during the search-driven session. Those bounced or abandoned visits often educate the visitor about you, your products or services, simultaneously exposing them to your brand.)
A new study not only discloses some critical data about how video rankings differ on Google and YouTube, it also shares strategic insights about the data to provide the reasons for those differences. …
In addition to driving organic traffic to your content, there are also several paid options for promoting your video on YouTube. In this section, we’ll dive into some of the basics on how to run a YouTube advertising campaign.
Dharmesh Shah, Founder and CTO of HubSpotsays it best: “The worst thing to do is make a completely boring video. Videos that are pure marketing puff pieces don’t spread.” So what do your audience want instead? They want to laugh, they want to feel enlightened, they want to be pulled out of their boring 9 to 5s and forget about their realities. HubSpot don’t take themselves too seriously – Dharmesh insists that humour works well for their video marketing campaigns.
Market your YouTube channel and videos on your website and blog. First, add a YouTube follow icon to your website and blog so your audience can easily find your channel. Second, embed relevant videos on your website or in blog posts. Consider creating a YouTube video to accompany a specific blog post or sharing customer video reviews or case studies on your website. Not only will this help market your YouTube channel and videos, it will also drive traffic to your website.
YouTube is one of the largest, most visited websites in the world. Fortunately, and it’s also one of the easiest places to get massive amounts of traffic with minimal effort. By utilizing these best practices, you can now create engaging videos, dominate SEO, and send your videos surging up the search rankings on both YouTube and Google.
The two exceptions here are 1) if you’ve built up a large subscriber base who you know will happily wait through the ads for your content, and 2) if your business is becoming semi-famous on YouTube. Still, for the latter, wait until you have at least 5-10 thousand subscribers before enabling ads.
When you ask your friends which online video platform they use, the answer you probably receive is YouTube. For good reason too! YouTube is the largest video hosting platform, the second largest search platform after Google, and the third most visited website in the world. Every day people watch over 5 billion videos a day on YouTube. To top it off, it’s free to upload your videos to YouTube and optimize them for search.
In this style of video, a digital layer is added to what you are currently viewing in the world. For example: You can point your phone’s camera at your living room and see how a couch would look in the space.
Once you’ve established the goal for your video, it’s time to put on your creativity hat and start working on your storyboard. A storyboard is like a blueprint for your video and serves as an outline for the shoot. You’ve probably even seen one before. Storyboards look a bit like comic strips and include rough sketches of different scenes paired with short descriptive information about the scene, camera position and motion, and dialogue. They vary in the level of detail included, but your storyboard should, at the very least, include:
So, you’ve decided to add YouTube videos to your content repertoire. Great, why not? Online users love videos. In fact, four times as many customers would rather watch a video about a product than read about it. What’s more, YouTube is the king of video with more than one billion users. That means a lot of eyeballs. Except, there’s a problem. Making videos is one thing, but getting people to find and watch them is another. If you have tried your hand at YouTube marketing, you will have quickly realized that it’s not that simple… Read the full article »
Apply the principles outlined here and grow your presence on YouTube. Remember, it may not work on the first try, but continuing to produce high-quality content on YouTube can deliver amazing results.
For example, if you are shooting an interview or a how-to video, the subject’s eyes should align with the top horizontal line around one of the two intersections. For this “talking head” shot, you can also improve your composition by leaving enough (but not too much) head room. This is the empty space above the person’s head.
Okay, you know how to create a video and where to host it. You’re ready to get started, right? Maybe not. Before you dive in, you need to define your video goals and identify the best metrics for determining whether you’ve accomplished those goals.
The common denominator? The folks in these videos use technology to help people and make the world a better and more interesting place. By providing viewers with an inspirational look at how technology is changing our experiences, they were able to drum up interest in a way that a traditional, product-centric advertisement couldn’t.
Being a good writer is not as essential to being a good storyteller, which is why some unscripted talking to the webcam videos can work, but it is certainly essential if your story isn’t compelling enough on it’s own.
As you begin creating videos, you’ll notice a key difference between scripts and your typical business blog post: the language. Video language should be relaxed, clear, and conversational. Avoid using complex sentence structures and eloquent clauses. Instead, connect with your audience by writing in first person and using visual language. Keep the language concise, but avoid jargon and buzzwords. For the “Little-Known Instagram Hacks” example, note how a section from the original blog post could be transformed for the screen with less words by relying on visuals.
Video marketing makes a difference in every vertical. Whether it’s B2B or B2C, the bottom line is the same: Viewers are consumers, and videos are designed to be consumed without asking too much of your audience.
Your videos should work the same way. Even if they aren’t ads, you should treat it them as such. Hook the viewer in with visuals and a few great opening lines. Then keep them entertained. Watch what I do in this video:
Super Bowl 52 saw many of the big film studios drop exhilarating trailers for this year’s up-and-coming blockbusters. But how many online video views did these trailers attract, and what kind of engagement did they generate?…
To add subtitles or closed captions, head to your video manager then click on “Videos under “Video Manager.” Find the video you want to add subtitles or closed captioning to and click the drop-down arrow next to the edit button. Then choose “Subtitles/CC.” You can then choose how you’d like to add subtitles or closed captioning.
ReelSEO mentions “social video marketing” frequently and has been using the term since at least 2010. “Social Video Marketing” as a term has also been championed by Internet entrepreneur Shawn Hopwood.[2]

Remember that video doesn’t need to be complicated. In fact, some of the most popular video campaigns in the world are extremely simple — and their power rests in their simplicity. It’s more important to target your audience is a smart way than to create a complex video.
If you’re familiar with GoPro’s user-generated content, you probably noticed that this isn’t their typical video. GoPro has done a great job of defining their brand as adventurous and extreme — and the vast majority of the user-generated videos they repurpose and put out on their own channels involves stuff like jumping out of airplanes and surfing giant waves.
Ad groups will each be assigned a format (either in-stream or video discovery for TrueView campaigns), and can contain only ads of that same format. For example, an in-stream ad group can contain only in-stream video ads and their associated targeting criteria and bids. Likewise, a video discovery ad group can contain only video discovery ads and their associated targeting criteria and bids.
This whole idea behind “all you need is a webcam” is pretty much garbage. Don’t believe me, when was the last time you watched someone’s webcam video for extended periods of time? To be fair, it’s sometimes true that a webcam is all you need, but only if you have an engaging video personality. And let’s face it, being good on video is not a skill that most people are born with.

The goal of YouTube marketing should be to send users to other social channels, or to your site (or both). Make it easy by adding links to your channel. They’ll appear in the bottom right-hand corner of your channel art, in a place that’s easy to see and highly clickable.
It’s not enough just to upload your business’s video to YouTube. If you want people to find your video, you need to optimize it! Much like with search engine optimization, YouTube video optimization requires you to do some keyword research and then optimize your video’s title, description, tags, and annotations.
Ultimately, none of what we’ve discussed so far matters much if your videos suck. Whether the content is bad or they just aren’t actionable, videos that are incapable of driving results just waste your time and money. When creating videos for YouTube, focus on specific goals. For many businesses, that will be lead generation and sales.
Now that you have all of your equipment, you’re finally ready to build your office studio. While you could always grab a closet to store your equipment in and lug it out for each shoot, why not go big? Claim a conference room.
But before we dive in, a caveat: this is a high level overview of each setting. If you find yourself geeking out at any time, dive in and research more. There’s plenty to learn about how to manipulate multiple of these settings in conjunction with each other to create different looks.
As a producer, your job is to get plenty of b-roll to make sure your editor is never in the position of running out. Create a shot list of more b-roll ideas than you think you’d need, and mark them off as you record them.
In the first video at the beginning of this article, I discuss how the call to action in a video is a powerful motivator for viewers. The statistics show that audiences are much more likely to take action after watching a video, rather than after reading text.

I tried to purchase Persian likes from them, they told me they couldn’t do it and refunded me promptly, later I purchased USA twitter followers, received within 1 hour and was really happy about the quality.
A channel icon is similar to a Facebook profile picture. This image will be used across all of your Google properties like Gmail and Google+. Consider using a company logo or, if you are a public figure, a professional headshot.
The first is that viewer attention spans- and loyalty- are a bitch. I’m even lumping in my own impatience online here; as a user, if I click to watch a tutorial, an ad pops up, and I see a similar tutorial in the “You May Also Like This” feed, I’ll give that one a shot instead. I’m not kidding. I’ve done this twice today. You don’t want to do anything that will cause viewers to lose interest in your video, or worse, to click to a competitor’s video instead.
Don’t be afraid to push the boundaries of your brand’s image. Find ways to change the way you exhibit the various themes in your brand’s personality, and experiment with different topics and formats that could help you widen your audience.
The common denominator? The folks in these videos use technology to help people and make the world a better and more interesting place. If you want Google to do the work, you’ll get more scale as they aggregate all videos using particular keywords into a placement for you. But what you gain in simplicity and scale, you’ll lose in terms of targeting.
Second, it gives you the ability to connect to the viewer’s emotions, which helps users connect with your brand in a meaningful way. You can create videos with very specific intent, targeting specific audiences and getting specific reactions, in mere seconds.

A solid YouTube long-tail marketing campaign can really boost the reach and effectiveness of your B2B videos. We take a look at some of the ways companies can make their video content continue to work long after the upload. …
One simple way to create a steady stream of content is to produce shorter versions of long-form content. Build a theme around a topic and then post bite-size versions of the theme on a weekly basis. This will keep your audience engaged and coming back for more.
The year of 2018 is also set to be the year that even more small players in the online business world will be getting into video and dominating the scene. We’ve already seen examples of this with brands like Dollar Shave Club, which invested in a video campaign and, according to a New York Times interview with the founder, received 12,000 new orders in the first 48 hours of the video’s launch. That one campaign turned this little-known subscription service into an internet darling with a big following almost overnight.
To make a direct sale – There’s absolutely no reason you shouldn’t present a CALL-TO-ACTION in your video and provide a link that goes directly to an order form. We’re actually shocked to see how few people actually do this!
To create a TrueView video campaign with only one ad format, follow the first set of instructions below. To create a TrueView campaign with several ad formats, continue to the second set of instructions below to create an additional ad group.
Before you press record, start with a conversation about your video’s purpose. Nearly every decision during the video making process will point back to what action you’d like your audience to complete after watching the video.
You guessed it right; the biggest influential factor that launched this form of marketing was YouTube. Of course, there were other websites that offer video upload and streaming features but they weren’t as strong as YouTube.
One fifth of your viewers will click away from a video within 10 seconds or less. Short and to the point – that’s what the video experts are recommending. Our advice? Get right to the grit of the tale and manage expectations from the outset (within the first 5 to 10 seconds).
This is one area you cannot ignore. Titles are very important in YouTube. No matter how great your video content, it won’t matter if you can’t get anyone to actually click on your video in the first place.
Your first opportunity to delight comes directly after the purchase. Consider sending a thank you video to welcome them into the community or an onboarding video to get them rolling with their new purchase. Then, build out a library of educational courses or product training videos to cater to consumers who prefer self-service or simply want to expand their expertise.
Social Sharing and Comments: If you’re on social media, you’re probably familiar with sharing and commenting. Social shares and comments are good indicators of how relevant your content is with your target audience. If a viewer watches your video and takes the time to share it with their network, you probably created a great piece of content. Social shares are also important because the more times your video is shared, the more it’ll be viewed. If your goal is to reach to reach a lot of people, social shares is good metric to track.
Find a Location: First, find a spot to record. If you can’t go to a professional studio, try to pick a quiet room away from distracting external sounds like sirens, opening and closing doors, and people talking on the phone. Read your script aloud, and pay attention to the room’s acoustics. Does your voice echo or sound muffled? If so, consider recording in a different space or adding furniture to fill in the room.
The definition of video marketing is not complex. In fact, it’s rather simple: using video to promote or market your brand, product or service. A strong marketing campaign incorporates video into the mix. Customer testimonials, videos from live events, how-to videos, explainer videos, corporate training videos, viral (entertainment) videos — the list goes on.
Don’t believe the hype? Here are some statistics to prove the point. According to Syndacast, 74 percent of all Internet traffic in 2017 will be video. Not only that, studies show that using the word “Video” in the subject line of an email can increase open rates by 19 percent, click-through rates by 65 percent and reduce un-subscribers by 26 percent. According to Twitter, videos and photos get the most retweets.
Achieving the goal of ranking higher in YouTube search results with your marketing videos can be a daunting task, but applying these 12 tips to your strategy will definitely smooth the way and clear a few things up. It’s all about crafting a brief quality video, tuning your YouTube SEO strategy, adding a few marketing tactics (such as calls to action and advertising) and then being social about it… Read the full article »

Unlike paid search, which is often managed heavily against last-click attribution, most forms of YouTube advertising are used to either build or reinforce brand awareness. Yes, YouTube ads can contain a call to action (a bit like late-night infomercials), but more often than not, the consumption of video advertising by your target audience is more “upper-funnel.”
Second, video editing programs are very particular about where you keep your files. We’ll cover software options more in the next section, but for now know that if you don’t stick with the original file structure, you may find yourself buried in error messages.
Form a process: Every videographer has their own method, but we suggest setting your shutter speed first according to the math described above. Then adjust aperture according to the depth of field you want to create. Then, ISO. Finally, circle back to shutter speed for any fine adjustments.
Trade shows, private events and industry conferences are great for physically interacting with attendees, but the business opportunities don’t end there: Repurpose live footage for social media and post-event followups.
We all know about Facebook contests, Instagram contests, and even Pinterest contestshttps://blog.hootsuite.com/secrets-youtube-contest/. But what about YouTube contests? They’re not as common, but they are a great strategy. Since they’re not as common, this gives you an edge if you decide to use them. Like all other social contests, a YouTube contest can do a lot to help increase subscribers, engagement, and social shares. And, when executed correctly, lead generation and/or user generated content.
What TMZ Sports and Business Insider essentially do is write half a sentence and leaves it as a “….”. This means that if you want to find who said what or what the kids should, you’ll have to click on the video to find out.

Videos have a direct impact on search results. It is common knowledge that rich media, which includes videos, is favored by search engine algorithms. To top it up, the fact that Google owns YouTube also plays a role in video’s increased popularity. Google has been constantly adjusting its algorithm to give its users a meaningful experience while searching. To satisfy user intent, they show a variety of results, and not just exact keyword matches. As a result, search results now prominently feature videos among top results.
Not only do subtitles and closed captions help viewers, they also help optimize your video for search by giving you another opportunity to highlight important keywords. You can add subtitles or closed captions by uploading a supported text transcript or timed subtitles file. You can also provide a full transcript of the video and have YouTube time the subtitles automatically, type the subtitles or translation as you watch the video, or hire a professional to translate or transcribe your video.
Understand your audience’s needs better than anyone else, and play to them in your videos. In addition, don’t mistake “longer” for “better” — if your message can be expressed in just a few seconds, don’t drag out the length of your video unnecessarily.
While the tutorials are tied directly to Facebook’s product, they’re not pitchy. Instead, they aim to provide answers to users’ most common questions in an entertaining and lighthearted way. It doesn’t hurt that they’re also simple to follow and clock in at only 20 seconds long.
The much-anticipated Wonder Woman movie has finally been released, and the initial reviews are very positive. But how does this enthusiasm for Wonder Woman translate into views and engagement on videos like official trailers and fan-related content?…

Using the above example of Business Insider, you may not want to target all the viewers of all their content. Some of their most popular videos have little to do with business — but even among those that are business-related, some may be geared toward viewers who may not be in your target audience. So, rather than targeting an entire channel, you may want to place an ad against a video that has relevant content and a decent number of views.

Although this video is about a man who adopts and raises a puppy, it’s not meant to be inspiring — it’s meant to be entertaining. And entertaining it is: BuzzFeed did a great job writing a script that takes all the classic puppy stories you’ve heard (puppy chewing on the furniture; puppy keeping you up all night) and turns them into a delightful story of a man and his dog spending time together.
YouTube’s not the only video marketing platform anymore, but it’s still the biggest, with more than just their 1.5 billion monthly logged-in viewers consuming video content. And while Facebook and Twitter are making video a bigger focus, YouTube remains a key video destination. If you’re looking to make the most of your video marketing efforts, YouTube should definitely be on your list… Read the full article »
First things first, you can’t measure your success without determining your goal. If you’ve filmed, edited, uploaded, optimized, and shared your video and still don’t know what goal you’re trying to achieve, we have an issue. Your goal should drive your video strategy from beginning to end.
It’s important to remember that video audio is just as important as video visuals. The good news is that you don’t have to be the next Don LaFontaine or hire a professional to record a great voiceover. Below are a few tips to capture audio on a budget:
Video marketing is critically impacting the consumer journey in many industries. Social media and content marketers have begun to pay more attention to the niche. So let’s talk about metrics so you can better understand how you’ll measure your success and set goals. When you post a video, it’s easy to get obsessed with one metric — view count. While view count can be an important metric, there are many others that may be more relevant to your campaign. Below are some popular metrics to take a closer look at:
Most people are a bit camera-shy and don’t feel comfortable having their face plastered all over YouTube. Well, here’s the good news – you don’t have to become a YouTube celebrity. In fact, it might actually be better if you don’t appear in your YouTube videos.
For example, Google’s keyword tool returns 49,500 global monthly searches for the phrase “landing pages”, while YouTube’s states “Not Enough Data”. The term “make money online”, however, returns 368,000 and 20,000 respectively. Therefore, look at both places and try to find the middle ground between them.
Now that we’ve talked about why determining a goal is so important, we can discuss how to effectively measure success. At first glance, YouTube analytics can be pretty overwhelming. On the flip side, it’s frustrating when you post a video and don’t receive as many views or as much engagement as you were expecting. YouTube analytics shows you how viewers found your content, how long they watched it, and how much they engaged with it. Let’s start by going over what exactly you can measure and how to find it.
Last in the Exposure Triangle is ISO. In digital photography and videography, ISO measures the camera sensor’s sensitivity to light. On your camera, you’ll see the settings referred to with numbers in the hundreds or thousands (e.g. 200, 400, 800, 1600, etc).
Watch time reports the total number of minutes your audience has spent viewing your content on your channel as a whole and by video. This helps you see what pieces of content viewers are actually consuming instead of just clicking on and navigating away. Watch time is important because it’s one of YouTube’s ranking factors. A video with a higher watch time is more likely to rank higher in results. YouTube provides a line item report on watch time, views, average view duration, and average percentage viewed for individual videos, location, publish date, and more. A video’s average percentage viewed, or retention rate, indicates the average percentage of a video your audience watches per view. A higher percentage means there’s a higher chance that your audience will watch that video until the end. Try placing cards and end screens in videos with a higher average percentage viewed rate to improve the number of views your calls-to-action receive.

Considering the expense of a DSLR camera, research your options and read plenty of reviews. Top of the line options (from most expensive to least) would include the Sony Alpha a7SII, Nikon D810, and Canon EOS 5D Mark III. For a more cost effective option check out the Canon EOS 7D Mark II, Canon 80D, Nikon 3300, or Canon EOS Rebel T6.
Once your script feels ready to go, there’s one more step before you break out your camera: the table read. Words on paper can sound a lot different than they do out loud. The point of a table read is to smooth out the kinks of the script and nail down inflection points. Have a few people (writer and talent included) gather around a table with their laptops and read the script multiple times through. If you accidently say a line different than what the script prescribes, think about why and consider changing the language to make it sound more natural.

I use my description as a transcript. But I also put links to my blog and social above the fold. So even if people don’t read the entire description, they still see links to read my blog or get in contact with my social:
Your iPhone does a great job of finding the subject to focus on when you take photos. But when it comes to video, the camera will continue adjusting and readjusting as you move around the scene. To solve this problem, lock the exposure while you’re filming before you press record. Hold your finger down on the subject of the video until a yellow box appears with the words “AE/AF Lock.”
Completion Rate: Completion rate is the number of people who completed your video divided by the number of people who played it. Completion rate, and other engagement metrics, are a great way to gauge a viewer’s reaction to your video. Do you have a low completion rate? Are people all dropping off at a certain point? This might be a sign that your video content is not resonating with your target audience.

It’s the content and videos. Especially coming from YouTube, it actually speaks more than a million words and that’s what you want for a solid content. Adding a YouTube channel to your website to fill your quality videos in will make people go back as often as they can to get information.
On your external hard drive, you should create a separate top-level folder for each project. Within this folder, there should be a prescribed set of buckets to store your video footage, audio, design assets, and more. Create a template project folder that you can copy and paste for each project using the image below as a guide.
Starting in May 2017, YouTube will no longer allow users to add annotations to their videos. Instead, they are encouraging users to incorporate cards and end screens in their videos to poll viewers, link to external sites, or direct people to other videos. Thankfully, cards and end screens are as easy to add as annotations. Cards are small, rectangular notifications that appear in the top, right-hand corner of both desktop and mobile screens. You can include up to five cards per video, but if you’re including multiple cards, be sure to space them out evenly to give viewers time to take the desired action.
The first is nearly self-explanatory. Video is huge right now. It is dominating the world of marketing, and if you aren’t using video, you’ll almost certainly lose out to your competitors. That’s not a hyperbole; with video ranking higher on all social platforms and performing well in ads, customers are more likely to notice and respond to businesses using video.
YouTube’s title character limit is 100, but right around 50-55 characters is where they start to cut off the text on the desktop. This is where you write your cliffhanger. Look what TMZ Sports does when they write their titles.
Remember, this process is just a guideline for choosing shutter speed. Traditionalists stick to these calculations, but there’s always room to tweak shutter speed slightly to achieve a desired effect. In the case of video, rules can be broken —  as long as you have a good enough reason.

If there’s one thing that you take away from this 4,000+ word guide, let it be this section. You should optimize the heck out of your YouTube videos for SEO. We covered why you should do this early on, with YouTube and Google’s searches being a powerful factor in which videos get more views.
Examples of attract videos include snackable social videos that show off your brand’s personality, thought leadership videos that establish you as a source of industry news and insight, brand films the share your values and mission, or explainers/how-to videos that provide relevant tips for solving your audience’s pain point.
Think in terms of macro and micro in your video marketing. Evaluate the macro effect that your product or service is having on your industry or the world as a whole, and then hone in on someone’s micro experience to deliver a relatable and compelling story.

When I say YouTube has a large and diverse audience, I mean it. They have 1,300,000 active users, and the site gets over 30 million visitors every single day. We know that YouTube’s audience watches more than 3.25 billion hours of video every month, and more than 1 billion video views every single day. That’s a heck of a lot of video.

So, here’s the thing, you don’t want to start an online business without considering the use of videos. You may haven’t noticed it but everywhere you look, this form of content really draws in a lot of people as compared to the sole use of articles and images. Adding videos to your website is a game-changer and you can search for the numbers if you’re in doubt.
Now that you’ve set up your channel for customization, upload your trailer. Click the arrow upload button in the upper right-hand corner and select your video file. Remember to add keywords to your trailer name and description. Once your video uploads, click on the “For new visitors” tab on your channel homepage.
But while you’re maintaining the fun level on set, remain vigilant. It’s your job to pay attention to the little things, like making sure all of the mics are on or noticing if the lighting changes. Record each section many times and have your talent play with inflections. When you think they’ve nailed the shot … get just one more. Options are great and your talent is already on a roll.
If you have experienced, confident actors in your company, you’re lucky. Video talent is a rare resource. But with a little bit of coaching (and a fair share of nervous laughter), you can help your teammates thrive in front of the camera.
Video is growing to dominate your audience’s online activity: 78% of people watch videos online every week, and 55% watch videos online every day. If you don’t already have a video marketing strategy in place for your website and social media, you’re missing a tremendous opportunity to reach and engage with your audience.
What if you want to be on the other side of the monetization- if you want to use ads to promote your business, instead of profiting from views of said ads? This is something I can happily recommend for businesses. Here’s how to advertise on YouTube:
When it comes time to shoot, clear out unnecessary people from the room and turn off the overhead lights. With your three-point lighting setup, there will be no need for those harsh fluorescents. When — and only when — everything is set up, call in your talent. There’s nothing worse than being nervous, and then having to anxiously watch as lights are turned on and the camera is tested.
A purchase may have been made, but there’s still a lot video can do to leverage the post-conversion stage of your funnel. During the delight stage of the Inbound Methodology, your goal is to continue providing remarkable content to users in hopes that they’ll tell their connections about their experience or upsell themselves. Therefore, the goal of a delight video is encourage your customers to embrace your brand and become brand evangelists.
The YouTube/Adwords ad creator looks a little different than what Facebook/Pinterest/Twitter/Quora ads managers look like. They display all four creation steps on a page, and you click on each in order to add and edit the content there. First, select your video.
One of the main ways you can take advantage of this feature is by creating a channel trailer. A channel trailer is the video version of your description and is shown to all your unsubscribed viewers. Your trailer should be short and sweet (around 30 to 60 seconds). Focus on showing visitors what your channel is about, what they can expect to see, and encourage them to subscribe. Your trailer won’t be interrupted by ads, keeping the user focused on why they should watch more videos from your brand.

Keywords are the other important thing. You need to make sure you put those keywords in your title so it attracts the right audience. Notice how each one gives you a very specific idea of what the video is about. Each one offers something a little different, but gives the searcher the freedom to choose what is going to be best for them. For reference YouTube’s keyword tool shows 21,600 searches for the phrase, while Google says 49,500; that’s a perfect sweet spot for keyword optimization.
YouTube has a library of free sound effects and music to use in your videos. Some other great resources for royalty free music are Pond5, Epidemic Sound, and PremiumBeat. Both services include thousands of professionally recorded and produced songs in a multitude of genres at varying lengths and tempos. PremiumBeat and Pond5 both include a large library of sound effects to add texture and depth to your videos. Sometimes, it only takes a subtle sound effect layer in the background of a scene to elevate the production quality of your video and really pull your audience into the story.

Marketing that empowers the consumer — rather than making them feel inadequate — resonates. Acknowledge those all-too-familiar human emotions like anxiety or self-consciousness, and turn them on their head.
Video can also provide social proof for your product or service. According to WebDam, customer testimonials have the highest effectiveness rating for content marketing at 89%. When creating video success stories focus on the story of your customer and the success he/she achieved from using your product/service. This nifty question template from Copyblogger will help you create awesome and human-focused video and written testimonials.

Then choose which elements you’d like to add to your end screen. You can add elements by importing an end screen you used in another video, using a template, or creating elements manually. It’s important to keep in mind that YouTube requires users to  to promote another YouTube video or a playlist in part of the end screen.
Play Rate: Play rate is the percentage of people who played your video divided by the number of impressions it received. This metric helps determine how relevant or appealing your video is to your audience. If thousands of people see your video, but only a handful of people play it, it’s probably time to optimize your content.
End screens allow you to extend your video for 5-20 seconds to direct viewers to other videos or channels on YouTube, encourage viewers to subscribe to your channel, or promote external links, such as ones that direct to your website. End screens encourage users to continue engaging with your brand or content.
Bounce Rate and Time on Page: Are you thinking about adding a video to a web page? Take note of the page bounce rate and the amount of time people spent on the page before you add the video. Be sure to check the metrics after you place the video to see if changes the way people interact with your other content.
By inserting their product into a story of loss, love, and restoration, Google Earth was successful in positioning its capabilities as life-changing — but it doesn’t feel too showy. The video makes you feel that Google Earth isn’t out to make money, but rather, they’re out to build a service to improve the lives of their users.
One of the most effective ways to generate more views for your channel is to promote your videos outside of YouTube, i.e. use your blog and social media channels. There’s a variety of WordPress themes that aim to do exactly that: promote your YouTube channel prominently on-site.
Starting in May 2017, YouTube will no longer allow users to add annotations to their videos. Above all else, shoot with a tripod. It should go without saying, but the handheld method you use for your Snapchat story isn’t going to cut it. Tripods will ensure you maintain a steady shot and hopefully not break any expensive equipment in the process.

Wistia is a video platform built specifically for businesses. Unlike other video hosting platforms, Wistia helps drive traffic back your website instead of back to its site. This is extremely helpful if your goal is to get the viewer to complete an action on your website.
Understanding YouTube Analytics can seem daunting at first. Let’s face it, interpreting a bunch of numbers and strange looking graphs can be pretty challenging. Thankfully, understanding YouTube Analytics is pretty straightforward once you know your way around.
I recommend that your account picture (which you set through your Google account) is some sort of brand logo. If you’re a one-person business, it can be a professional headshot of you. Ideally, it should match your profile pictures on other social media accounts for instant brand recognition. This works both ways; if ones of your followers from another site comes across your YouTube, you want them to recognize you so they’re more likely to watch. And, vice versa, if a viewer Googles you, you want them to be sure that the Facebook profile they’re clicking on is actually you. To change your channel art, just click on it when editing your profile.
Okay, you now have a Google account, and you’re ready to publish some awesome video content, but we’re not done yet! You now need to set up a YouTube brand account. A brand account allows users to manage editing permissions and create a more holistic online presence.

In addition, it’s really important that you track all of the leads you get from YouTube – because they’re educated about your product. And an informed lead is worth roughly 10 times the value of an uneducated lead.
Tripods range tremendously in price, and the quality of your tripod should depend on the level of camera and lens you have. For a DSLR, Manfrotto makes a variety of trustworthy tripods starting with the Manfrotto BeFree and increasing in quality and price from there.
You can always cut out footage, but sometimes it’s not possible to go back and capture more. To make sure you have the clips you need, shoot multiple takes of each scene. To make sure you don’t miss a moment, try counting down from 5 before you start the action and before you finish recording.

There are endless platforms for video marketing. YouTube, broadcast television, video boards and street marketing, you name it. The possibilities are endless. With a smartphone, consumers can access online video anytime, anywhere. The same is not true with traditional, paper marketing. With video, you can reach your audience wherever they are in a cost-effective way.
Logically speaking, as more people go back to your website for the videos or even to your YouTube channel, traffic will also increase. People might look for the videos on YouTube at first but as they find your videos useful, they will eventually follow the link to your website and that can drive more traffic. The secret is patience.
But before we dive in, a caveat: this is a high level overview of each setting. If you find yourself geeking out at any time, dive in and research more. There’s plenty to learn about how to manipulate multiple of these settings in conjunction with each other to create different looks.
Test and Listen: Think you can record the perfect voiceover is just one take? Think again! Invest in a good pair of headphones and keep an eye on your audio quality throughout the recording process. It’s easier to get a new take of audio than trying to fix it during the editing process. We recommend running through your script a few times, especially the first few paragraphs, to ensure that your voice is fully warmed up. If you hear popping or hissing sounds, try standing further away from the mic or invest in a pop filter.
Euro 2016 is the second most popular football tournament in the world after the World Cup, and fans of the game are turning to YouTube in their millions to catch the latest football-related content. A new report from Tubular confirms that UK football videos alone generated 6.2B views and 194M engagements in 2015, while German and French football-related videos generated a combined 2.5B views, and 71M engagements….
When researching keywords, I recommend doing keyword research both for Google, and specifically for YouTube. This way, you’ll make sure that you’re ranking as best you can on both search engines, increasing views significantly. Any of the top keyword research tools will work for Google (I discuss them in-depth here), and I most recommend keywordtool.io’s YouTube-specific search. Prioritize the keywords you find in the YouTube search, as this will be your best bet for being found.
The demographics report helps you understand your audience by reporting on their age and gender. You can then break down age groups and genders by other criteria like geography. This report will help you better market to your YouTube audience and understand if your content is resonating with your established buyer personas.
There are some films that are simply beautiful. It’s not the story or even the picturesque setting. In fact, the scene might take place in the dingiest of sets, but somehow each shot just feels right.
No matter if it’s your first video or your fiftieth, remember that getting in front of the camera is scary. Schedule plenty of time and give your talent the script early — but make it clear they don’t need to memorize it.
Find the upward facing arrow in the top navigation bar of YouTube. It doesn’t matter what page you’re on, you’ll be able to see this. Click on it. You’ll be asked to select or drop a video file, and your video will start uploading right away.
Note: Your video campaigns are located with your other campaign types (if any) from the “All campaigns” drop-down menu. You can also use this drop-down menu to view only video campaigns by selecting Video campaigns.
Speaking of sound, pay special attention to the hum of the air conditioning. Find a room with minimal noise or turn down the fan during recording. Consider purchasing photography paper to create a background that’s a little more appealing than the white conference room wall.
Start with photos: You may not have aspirations to be a professional photographer, but by switching your camera off video mode, you’ll be able to see the relationship between aperture, ISO, and shutter speed a lot faster. Take a ton of photos and change each setting incrementally. Over time, the numbers will be less intimidating and switching between settings will become muscle memory.
This series by Wieden + Kennedy and Nike Women uses honest humor to shed light on the “inner thoughts” women experience at the gym (though I’m certain there is a male equivalent to these types of situations).
In addition, it’s really important that you track all of the leads you get from YouTube – because they’re educated about your product. And an informed lead is worth roughly 10 times the value of an uneducated lead.

If your video involves complex movement and editing, you need to storyboard to organize your thoughts. Yes, it takes more time, but it’s a lot less complicated than getting to your set and trying to figure everything out on the spot. One of the major signs of a rookie video maker is someone who is not able to visually communicate the story. Be sure to have an idea of how your story will flow before you start filming, otherwise you risk losing your audience.
You’ve attracted a new audience with your videos and converted the right visitors into leads. Now’s the time to close these leads into customers. Yet, as important as this stage is, BOFU videos are often the most overlooked by marketers and salespeople.
After you upload a video, YouTube will allow you to choose a video category under “Advanced settings.” Video categories help to group your video with related content on the platform. YouTube allows you to sort your video into one of the following categories: Film & Animation, Autos & Vehicles, Music, Pets & Animals, Sports, Travel & Events, Gaming, People & Blogs, Comedy, Entertainment, News & Politics, Howto & Style, Educations, Science & Technology, and Nonprofits & Activism.
A major Hollywood production shoots nearly 200 hours of film, the editor may work for months, even years, turning those 200 hours into a 90 minute movie. Professional video bloggers do it too, just much quicker.
When someone tags you in a photo or video on Instagram, it’s automatically added to your profile under “Photos of You,” unless you opt to add tagged photos manually (see the next tip). To see the posts you’ve been tagged in, go to your own profile and click the person icon below your bio.
This is one area you cannot ignore. Titles are very important in YouTube. No matter how great your video content, it won’t matter if you can’t get anyone to actually click on your video in the first place.
Let’s talk about YouTube. We’ve all heard of it, and chances are, we’ve all spent a wasted afternoon watching one silly cat video after another. YouTube is a great source for funny, entertaining content, but it’s also increasingly becoming an essential tool for marketers. In fact, nearly half of all marketers (48%) plan to add YouTube to their marketing strategy over the next 12 months according to the State of Inbound report.
It’s an amazingly powerful strategy and it will help you position yourself for growth as the “video onslaught” powers on across the web. The best part – the real cherry on top – is how unbelievably fast this strategy can improve your search rankings. So get started today and see how you can rank up page 1 of Google.
Make the most of the emotive power of video by appealing to your consumers’ needs and hidden desires. Scared you’ll lose leads this way? You can always place a strategic and relevant call to action alongside a tracked URL at the end of your video (just make sure it fits into your overall story).
As the world’s second largest search engine, YouTube allows your videos to be seen through organic search or paid advertising. Video is a great way to humanize your brand by showcasing real employees, customers, or partners. It also allows you to build credibility by publishing informational content that helps your target buyer. Promoting your videos through paid advertising versus organic search can impact the type of video you should create. If you’re planning to increase awareness organically, consider filming the history of your company, customer reviews, or product tutorials.

When launching a video marketing plan for your business, resist the temptation to just grab your cell phone, hit record, and upload. Take time to make your video stand out. At this point, the consumer is weighing their options and deciding on the purchase. Therefore, the goal of a BOFU video is to make your audience visualize themselves using your product or service — and thriving. There’s a reason 4X as many customers would rather watch a video about a product than read about it. Videos are able to display functionality and leverage emotions in ways a product description never could.
Video Completions: If you took the time to make a video, you probably want people to watch the whole thing. A video completion is the number of times a video is played in its entirety. This metric can be more reliable than view count when trying to determine your video’s success.
The emphasis of YouTube is on watching videos, not discussing them. You don’t really see people tagging each other in the comments like you do on other sites. It’s about the viewer’s experience, not a social one. If people want to do this, they’ll share the video onto their own social platforms
Instead, if you know you’re recording in a controlled environment (like a conference room in your office) we suggest recording with a shotgun mic. They’re reliable, remain out of the shot, and record background noise in a natural sounding way.
Play Rate: Play rate is the percentage of people who played your video divided by the number of impressions it received. This metric helps determine how relevant or appealing your video is to your audience. If thousands of people see your video, but only a handful of people play it, it’s probably time to optimize your content.
I bought 20,000 Instagram followers with them, the speed was perfect for me and was rather Instant ( delivered within 3 hours time),  they looked natural and did not trigger any warnings from Instagram’s side, I really trust them with my marketing campaigns and will definitely use them again.
Tubular’s recent ‘State of Online Video Report’ has revealed some important observations into the role sponsored content has played in today’s online video landscape. In short: sponsored content is doing exceedingly well for many brands who’ve tried it, and this trend doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon….
After you’ve planned your story and written the first draft of your script, it’s important to cut out all of the parts that are superfluous. Then, once you’ve written your script (even if it’s as something simple as a burger review) you need to read it aloud so you can rewrite and cut all all parts that do not move the story forward.
We’ll go over setting up your channel, optimizing and editing your videos, how to think outside the box with new strategies, monetization, and how to advertise on YouTube, all with plenty of great examples and screenshot tutorials included.
In order to truly succeed on YouTube, you need to approach it differently than other social platforms. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter revolve around both creating and sharing great content with the goal of creating awareness, engagement, and conversation. (That’s a simple definition, but for the purpose of this argument, it will work for now). It’s about actually socializing.
Before you start filming, you need to decide what type of video would help you achieve your goal. In a recent article from the Huffington Post, companies seeing the highest rates of success on YouTube ranked different types of videos by their level of importance and effectiveness. Before you start thinking of ideas, filming, and editing your video, consider this list of video types.
We admit, these audio purchases may sound like a lot. But a shotgun mic setup is a worthy investment that will last your company years. If you’re looking for a more cost effective solution, look into the Rode VideoMic that mounts on top of your DSLR and plugs right into the camera body.
Not only has this mentality lead to the demise of traditional marketing efforts, but it’s also set the stage for more human interactions between brands and consumers. Interactions that don’t feel like marketing.
Tell them what’s in it for them – Immediately after your brief intro, you need to explain 2 things: WHY they should watch AND how long the video is going to run (most people don’t like open-ended commitments).

Trade shows, private events and industry conferences are great for physically interacting with attendees, but the business opportunities don’t end there: Repurpose live footage for social media and post-event followups.
White balance tells your camera the color temperature of the environment you’re shooting in. Different types of light have different colors. For example, incandescent bulbs (like what many people put in a lamp) have a very warm color. The florescent lights (if you’re reading this in an office, look up) are a little bit cooler. Daylight is cooler yet. Before you begin shooting, you have to adjust your camera’s white balance according to your setup.
There are some films that are simply beautiful. It’s not the story or even the picturesque setting. In fact, the scene might take place in the dingiest of sets, but somehow each shot just feels right.
A recent study found that 57 percent of online consumers were more likely to buy a product they were considering purchasing after watching a video demonstration of that product. See a sample product explainer video below.
Prosumer cameras are considered the bridge between basic compact cameras and more advanced cameras. They’re perfect for someone interested in creating more video but want the option to just press record. Most have a fixed lens to keep things simple.
I firmly believe that every business should optimize their channel before they even post the first video. If you already have your channel up and running, though, it’s never too late to make some edits.
HighQ created the following infographic that illustrates why 2017 will be the year of video marketing. Learn about just how many videos are watched on social media every day (hint: it’s a lot) and how other marketers are using video to achieve their goals.
We’ll go over setting up your channel, optimizing and editing your videos, how to think outside the box with new strategies, monetization, and how to advertise on YouTube, all with plenty of great examples and screenshot tutorials included.
Before we get to the how-to, let’s cover the basics that everyone should know before they get started on the actual platform. Trust me, you don’t want to skip this section even if you’ve already got a channel up and running.
Add additional targeting to your ad to further define the audience. You can target individuals by gender, age, interests, and numerous other demographic and psychographic differentiators. Link your AdWords account to your YouTube channel and click “finish” to start running your ad.

To build authority, you need to keep your videos relevant to the theme of your channel. Whether your niche is model trains or growing azaleas, you should create a specific channel for each major topic.
When thinking of your goals, be sure to keep your buyer persona and target audience in mind. How old are they? Where do they live? What are their interests? How do they typically consume media? What stage of the buyer’s journey are they in? All of these questions can help determine what type of video you should make and where you should post it. For example, if your target audience is not familiar with your company, you probably want to make a video that focuses on brand awareness before producing an in-depth, product video. You’ll also want to host your video on a site that already has a large reach like YouTube.
Video funnels: In the same way that email campaigns can nurture someone once they have opted in, you can use video funnels to drive audiences over time from awareness to consideration phases using several videos. Facebook and other platforms let you create custom audiences based on their behaviors, which allows you to retarget based on behaviors.
Hey Brian there is a very good chance it is the platform that your website is on do you know if its mobile responsive, or what platform your using for example WIX, Weebly, WordPress, etc? I have clients come to me all of the time with this issue, I would be happy to check it out for you if you want to email me your web site jeremiah.bucher@socialparagon.com
There’s a lot of room to get creative with strategies here. The key is, though, to focus on specific goals and create videos to accomplish them; not the other way around. Keep the digital sales funnel in mind, just like you would on your blog, and nudge users towards conversion accordingly.
Next, upload your channel art. Click on the blue “Add channel art” button in the center of your channel. Upload a 2560 x 1440 px image that will scale well — across desktop, tablet, mobile, and TV. Check out YouTube’s channel art templates for specific design guidance.
Okay, you’ve filmed all your video footage. Congrats — you’re halfway there! Now it’s time to talk about editing. We get it, video editing can be confusing. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed at first, especially when you see software price tags! Luckily, there are many options for video editing depending on your skill level, operating system, and budget. There are even free programs and mobile apps! Let’s go over a few options:
One of the most effective ways to generate more views for your channel is to promote your videos outside of YouTube, i.e. use your blog and social media channels. There’s a variety of WordPress themes that aim to do exactly that: promote your YouTube channel prominently on-site.
If you want to put your iPhone’s shooting capabilities to the test, first make sure it has enough storage. Then, remember to enable your iPhone’s Do Not Disturb feature to avoid distracting notifications while filming.

old youtube | why youtube marketing

Most people think of YouTube as a great SEO opportunity for visibility or a place to host videos they plan on embedding on their websites. But YouTube video advertising has evolved dramatically over the last several years, opening up new opportunities for marketers.
Like any good campaign or content generation, it’s important to establish what you want to accomplish with your video before you get into the nuts and bolts of bringing it to life. Do you want to increase awareness for your brand? Drive inbound website traffic? Add subscribers to your channel? Increase social shares? Or do something else entirely? Establishing a singular goal at the start of the production process is key and will allow you to focus the video’s script and strategy on accomplishing it. It’s perfectly OK to have multiple goals for your YouTube channel, like increasing brand awareness and adding subscribers, but the best practice is to focus on one goal per video.
To create a shotgun mic setup in your office studio, you’ll need a shotgun mic like the Sennheiser ME66, a shotgun clip, light stand, XLR cable, and Zoom H4N recorder. The Zoom recorder will allow you to record audio separately on an SD card and adjust the gain for the environment you’re shooting in.
If you plan on having speaking in your video, be sure to use a high-quality microphone to capture the audio. There are many different microphone choices that record audio separately from the camera. There are even mics you can plug into your smartphone for better audio on the go.
This blog post is not going to get into the weeds of how to upload a profile picture, cover image, or the steps to upload a video. YouTube already has those steps. It’s easy and you don’t need any instructions from me. I’m going to use this first part of the guide to talk about why you need a great channel layout.
The Inbound Methodology is the marketing and sales approach focused on attracting customers through content and interactions that are relevant and helpful. Each video you create should acknowledge your audience’s challenges and provide a solution. Looking at the big picture, this content guides consumers through the journey of becoming aware of, evaluating, and purchasing your product or service.
No matter if it’s your first video or your fiftieth, remember that getting in front of the camera is scary. Schedule plenty of time and give your talent the script early — but make it clear they don’t need to memorize it.
As it does, you can enter in the video’s basic information, including its name, the video description, the privacy settings, and which playlist you’d like it to appear on. You should also add tags, which helps the video show up in relevant searches. You’ll want to make sure that the video’s text is optimized for SEO; we’ll go over this in the next section.
But what does shutter speed mean for video? We won’t go too deep into the science of shutter speed, but to pick the adequate setting you will have to do a little math. First, multiply your frame rate by 2. So if you’re shooting in 24fps, that would be 48. This number becomes the denominator of your shutter speed fraction. Since shutter speed is only available in a few increments, you’ll need to round 1/48 up to the next closest setting: 1/50.
Opinions vary greatly among sound engineers on the best method and equipment for recording audio with a DSLR. You’ve likely seen many videos that use a lavalier microphone — the small piece that clips below the collar of the talent’s shirt. Lavaliers come in both wired and wireless options. However, lavaliers can be a bit obtrusive both for the talent (who has to awkwardly have a wire threaded down their shirt) and for the viewer (who has to see a microphone for the entirety of the video).
To mask jump cuts, you can also shoot with two cameras, especially if you’re recording an interview without a script. Camera A would be the traditional, straight-on shot. Camera B should be angled 30 to 45 degrees to the side and capture a distinctly different shot. The editor could then flip between these two views to make the cut appear natural.
Finally, choose your video thumbnail once the video uploads. You can choose one that YouTube has suggested, or upload your own custom thumbnail. I almost always recommend uploading a custom thumbnail that contains some element of branding.
When it comes to video for SEO, descriptions are everything. Why? Well, descriptions allow Google’s search spiders to make sense of your video and understand what the content entails. So ensure that your videos are tagged with relevant keywords and fully explained with fleshed out descriptions and unique titles. Keep this rule in mind: if it has a box, it has a purpose – Google needs you to fill it out to help you rank.
Focus isn’t one of the key settings of shooting, but it’s definitely important to keep in mind. With a DSLR, you have the option to shoot with autofocus or manual focus. It depends on the camera and lens you have, but typically autofocus is not the most accurate.
One simple way to create a steady stream of content is to produce shorter versions of long-form content. Build a theme around a topic and then post bite-size versions of the theme on a weekly basis. This will keep your audience engaged and coming back for more.
Understanding YouTube Analytics can seem daunting at first. Let’s face it, interpreting a bunch of numbers and strange looking graphs can be pretty challenging. Thankfully, understanding YouTube Analytics is pretty straightforward once you know your way around.
We deliver brand experiences by filming product demos, news updates, interviews and more, all under one roof. All the resources and expertise your video marketing strategy requires live right here in our studio.
You can also filter your results by content, device type, geography or location, all video content or playlists, subscriber status, playback type, traffic by different YouTube products, and translations. In addition to filtering results, YouTube allows you to display your results in a variety of different charts and even an interactive map.
Great content and high quality are always a must. Your video’s job should be to make the audience feel some emotion or purpose after watching the video. It should make a person feel like they need to show it to a close friend or relative immediately. Videos that are stir up sadness, angry, or are hilarious are examples of viral videos. Once you have content, an extra promotional boost and the YouTube views jumpstart, then you’re ready to go viral!
Video Completions: If you took the time to make a video, you probably want people to watch the whole thing. A video completion is the number of times a video is played in its entirety. This metric can be more reliable than view count when trying to determine your video’s success.
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about video? I’m guessing the actual video footage. While it’s important to concentrate on your video footage, don’t forget to factor music into your overall plan and budget. Music is a powerful tool that can alter your video’s mood and tone — just watch the videos above! Choosing the right music can often make a video go from an amateur project to a professional piece of content. When used properly, it can help keep your viewer’s attention, evoke emotions, and help define your overall editing style.
For channel art, choose something that represents your business while being visually dynamic. I highly recommend using graphic design tool Snappa to create your YouTube channel art. They have pre-made templates that are sized to fit your channel perfectly, all of which are fully customizable. Try to use similar colors, fonts, and stylistic choices that you make on your website and profile picture. You can also add text to help get your point or brand across more quickly. A great example is AdEspresso’s own channel art:
Finally, circle back to the beginning of the script at the end of your recording. Chances are your subject got more comfortable throughout the shoot. Since the beginning is often the most crucial part of the video, record that section again when they’re feeling the most confident.
Social videos tends to be passed along because of a shared interest or a sense of trust between sender and recipient(s). Social videos attract conversation in either a one-to-one or a one-many relationship, with the comments and interactions becoming cumulative, rather than moving in a one-way trajectory, as in the case of a viral video.
Does your company have a relationship with another company that has a great YouTube presence? Ask them to collaborate! Collaborating with others is a fun way for both channels to gain exposure to another audience. Create a video or playlist together. There are a lot of options to creatively collaborate with other brands, just make sure that their audience and goal is similar to yours. The partnership should align with your  marketing strategy.
If you want Google to do the work, you’ll get more scale as they aggregate all videos using particular keywords into a placement for you. But what you gain in simplicity and scale, you’ll lose in terms of targeting.

The video follows one woman’s relationship with running in reverse, from her running the Reebok-sponsored Spartan Race as a middle-aged woman, to running track in high school, all the way back to the day she was born. It’s a great way for Reebok to communicate their brand mission of changing how people perceive and experience fitness at every age — and of letting customers know they’ll be there to cover their athletic gear needs throughout their lives.
The two exceptions here are 1) if you’ve built up a large subscriber base who you know will happily wait through the ads for your content, and 2) if your business is becoming semi-famous on YouTube. Still, for the latter, wait until you have at least 5-10 thousand subscribers before enabling ads.
Video marketing is critically impacting the consumer journey in many industries. Social media and content marketers have begun to pay more attention to the niche. In fact, many consumers look for information online before making a purchase and more often than not, videos affect consumer decisions. YouTube isn’t just a video sharing website, it’s already a form of media and it has already changed the lives of the people who used this as leverage for success. With a little hard work and dedication – you can reach it too!
Plus, the money you’ll make as a result of these monetization options isn’t exactly going to be sending you into early retirement. You might make something like $1 per 1,000 views, and you can’t even get paid until you hit the $100 mark. For most businesses, this takes ages. Many find that it’s not worth the risk of losing viewers for pennies of potential profit.

Although YouTube offers the benefit of reaching a large audience with no cost to upload and host videos, there are several downsides to the platform. While video ads can be a great tool for promoting your own content, the amount of ads on the platform from other advertisers can detract from your viewer’s experience. YouTube is also — surprise — highly addicting. Once viewers are on the platform, they usually stick around to watch another video … or 20. This can make it difficult to drive traffic back to your site from the platform. Despite these barriers, YouTube is a great platform for hosting videos and growing your audience.
Take a breath. With a little bit of know-how, building your studio doesn’t have to be overwhelming. There are plenty of cost effective choices and DIY hacks to make sure you or your talent looks great on camera.

Video marketing makes a difference in every vertical. Whether it’s B2B or B2C, the bottom line is the same: Viewers are consumers, and videos are designed to be consumed without asking too much of your audience.
It’s important to remember that video audio is just as important as video visuals. The good news is that you don’t have to be the next Don LaFontaine or hire a professional to record a great voiceover. Below are a few tips to capture audio on a budget:
YouTube also has an enormous and very diverse audience, which happily uses both YouTube’s and Google’s own search engine to find content they’re looking for. If you’re able to optimize for the right keywords (and I’ll show you how to do that later in this guide!), you’ll be able to connect with that audience instantly, instead of hoping a Facebook Ad shows up in their feed. This allows them to find also has an enormous and very diverse audience, which happily uses both YouTube’s and Google’s own search engine to find content they’re looking for. If you’re able to optimize for the right keywords (and I’ll show you how to do that later in this guide!), you’ll be able to connect with that audience instantly, instead of hoping a Facebook Ad shows up in their feed. This allows them to find you, not the other way around.
After all that prep work, it’s finally time to start filming your video. Don’t own a fancy camera or have budget to rent one? Don’t worry! Advances in smartphone cameras have made it possible to film great content with just a phone. If you are filming your video with a phone, be sure to turn it sideways and film in landscape mode. This will prevent awkward cropping or framing when you upload the video to YouTube, which natively supports the landscape format. No matter what you’re filming with, these tips can help your video to look professional and stay engaging for your viewers.
Finally, mark your good clips. Even if you’re recording a scripted video, you might have to record each section 10 or more times. Once your subject nails the take, wave your hand in front of the lens. That way, the editor can scrub directly to this visual cue and save a lot of time while reviewing the footage.
A channel icon is similar to a Facebook profile picture. This image will be used across all of your Google properties like Gmail and Google+. Consider using a company logo or, if you are a public figure, a professional headshot.
So let’s talk about metrics so you can better understand how you’ll measure your success and set goals. When you post a video, it’s easy to get obsessed with one metric — view count. While view count can be an important metric, there are many others that may be more relevant to your campaign. Below are some popular metrics to take a closer look at:
360 videos: The use of omnidirectional cameras got its start in 2014, but only recently have marketers begun to grasp the potential here. Still, case studies conducted by magnifyre and Google suggest that people engage more with 360-degree video as compared to standard video, so keep an eye on this trend to explode this year. It allows you to give your viewers a sense of immersive space, and the tech to create these videos gets cheaper by the day.

On your external hard drive, you should create a separate top-level folder for each project. Within this folder, there should be a prescribed set of buckets to store your video footage, audio, design assets, and more. Create a template project folder that you can copy and paste for each project using the image below as a guide.
In addition to their massive audience, YouTube offers several other features that make the platform a good option for hosting your video. Because YouTube videos are hosted on individual channels, the platform allows you to build a dedicated audience of subscribers. Users who follow your channel are more likely to see additional videos you upload. Within your channel itself, you can also organize videos into playlists which makes it easy for your audience to search between different types of content such as testimonials and product videos. Because YouTube is a social platform, viewers can also engage with your videos by liking and commenting on them, which allows you another chance to interact with your audience. YouTube also offers a variety of advertising options for more sophisticated targeting.
Make the most of the emotive power of video by appealing to your consumers’ needs and hidden desires. Scared you’ll lose leads this way? You can always place a strategic and relevant call to action alongside a tracked URL at the end of your video (just make sure it fits into your overall story).

YouTube has a larger adult audience than any cable network, and unlike television, you can target your ad only to your target audience. Plus, if you already use Google AdWords, we can connect YouTube advertising directly to your AdWords account.
Even the simplest of videos can be super shareable with the right subject matter. In this case, that subject matter is animals, which the folks at Android used to focus on shared experiences. By tapping into viewers’ emotions, the video has built-in broad appeal and sharability.
Let’s talk about YouTube. We’ve all heard of it, and chances are, we’ve all spent a wasted afternoon watching one silly cat video after another. A great example of a popular yet niche channel is Business Insider — it’s sort of cool that, rather than contacting Business Insider’s sales reps to buy video ads on their site, you can target their viewers by purchasing ads on their YouTube channel.
Your video thumbnail will be the main image viewers see when scrolling through a list of video results, and it can have a large impact of the amount of clicks to and views your video receives. YouTube will auto-generate a few thumbnail options for your video, but we highly recommend uploading a custom thumbnail. YouTube reports that “90% of the best performing videos on YouTube have custom thumbnails.” When filming, think of high-quality shots that accurately represent your video. YouTube recommends using a 1280 x 720 px image to ensure that your thumbnail looks great on all screen sizes.
The next thing you need to do to use a video marketing strategy wisely is to create a measurable KPI for your campaign. You can’t reach your goals if you don’t know what they are. As with other marketing strategies, it’s important to do some A/B testing to learn what works best for your audience.
Article video marketing is an extension of Article marketing but serves as an alternate medium for businesses to convey their message to a wider audience, and get more exposure. Being an audio-visual medium, articles turned into videos also reduce the time required to read the articles.
If you’re up for a challenge, trying telling a story with your b-roll and plan out a shot sequence. For example, your subject might open a door from the hallway, walk into their office space, sit down at their desk, open their laptop, and begin typing. Seems simple, right? But a shot sequence showing this 10 second scenario might consist of six or more different b-roll clips.
